This is a systemic and collaborative approach to bodywork that uses fascial techniques and movement education to reorganize and integrate the body in relationship to gravity. This method focuses on changing patterns rather than chasing symptoms. Over the course of a series of sessions, we will gradually work through the whole body to illuminate existing patterns and help your body to find a greater sense of stability, ease, and efficiency.

Myofascial bodywork is a soft tissue therapy for the treatment of myofascial tension and pain. The tissue is engaged in a variety of ways without the use of creams or oils. Frequently, the client will be asked to move their body in order to engage the nervous system in the process. This creates a collaborative approach that facilitates the easing of neuromuscular tension, the rehydration of fascial tissues, an increase in dynamic movement between structures, increased awareness and sensation, and a greater sense of connectivity and functionality within the body.

ScarWork

A gentle therapy for the reintegration of scar tissue into the fascial web. This work can improve the feel and appearance of the scar and can ease pain, discomfort, tension, and improve mobility. For scars of any age caused by surgeries or accidents, including burns.

I am a dancer and a structural integration practitioner who is curious about the places where the art, science, and spirituality of movement overlap. I offer transformative bodywork and embodied movement practices that focus on deepening awareness, building resources, and illuminating and shifting patterns for lasting change.

One of the ways I approach bodywork is from a movement perspective. Movement is life. When we move, our tissues receive sensation and feedback, which in turn, influences our movement choices and how we perceive ourselves and the world around us. Movement facilitates embodied knowing. Our motor development is created though exploratory and experimental movement. Beyond development, as we settle into the routines of daily life, we often take movement for granted- that is, until we lose mobility and the ability to experiment and adapt due to injury, stress, trauma, illness, postural and repetitive movement patterns, and lack of use. Structural integration and myofascial bodywork can help to illuminate our patterns, habits, and areas of restriction, and support the body in finding more ease, fluidity, awareness and possibility.

When you work with me, you can expect to learn a lot about your body and how you can take a more active role in your own well-being. My hope is to empower you with a deeper sense of understanding to lead you toward increased self-awareness. I believe in the power of spatial medicine (movement, bodywork) to influence every part of our lives. With greater nuance and specificity of awareness, we can reach a deeper sense of what our intelligent bodies are communicating, and lean into its richness and wisdom to help us find what we need.
